Belize lies less than 2 hours away by air from any major USA southern gateways - Houston, Miami , Charlotte North Carolina direct. The easiest method of traveling around Belize is by air. Two Belize airlines, Maya Island Air and Tropic Air, each have about flights to San Pedro, starting at around 7:30 a.m. and ending at 5:30 p.m. Most lodging establishments will arrange for your air travel once you arrive in the their lodging at the time you make your , and there's usually no extra cost to you. Many can also arrange your International flights to Belize as well.
Other forms of transportation in Belize is by Bus, Taxi, Water Taxi, Auto Rentals and Golf Cart Rentals (on some of the Islands and in Placencia)
On many of the islands bicycles can also be rented. Moped seem to be energing and in som places can be rented, such as San Sedro.
Visitors to Belize are permitted to stay in Belize for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. The following category of persons may be granted by the Immigration Department extensions of up to three (3) months at a time. These three months would be after the thirty day period given by the Immigration Officer at the port of entry.
