Lamanai South Lodge is a natural preserve, it is full of life. If you sit still and wait, nature will reveal itself to you.
If you take a walk, looking, listening, smelling and feeling, you will also find nature, undisturbed and yet exposed for you to experience. An early morning walk down our driveway, or on one of the nature trails, is guaranteed to be an experience you won't forget. It might be a pair of toucans taking flight, or a family of howler monkeys peering down at you from the treetops. It might be a gibnut, or a fox crossing your path, or a butterfly so stunning that you are stopped in your tracks, mesmerized by the beauty, and the moment.
Later, on another walk, your experience will be new and different. It might be a flock of parrots squawking as they pass overhead, or a dragonfly that actually holds still while you capture its shape and color on film. It might be a spider that dwarfs any you have ever seen, or it might be a section of path covered with flower petals that have fallen from far up in the jungle canopy.
At night, listen, as the birds, frogs, and insects create a combination of sounds that drift into your room from the water edge. In the morning, it will be the sounds of the howler monkeys that greet you as you start a new day.
